Soirée Salus

Aiding a local Ottawa charity to redesign a fundraiser

Soirée Salus is a fundraising event organized by the charity Salus, a local Ottawa charitable organization. Salus provides supportive housing and mental health services for adults living with mental illness and substance use challenges. For this event, the client requested a new logo, along with a sponsorship package booklet to present various sponsorship opportunities to potential corporate partners.

Inspiration & Ideation

In previous years, Soirée Salus featured branding inspired by the French flag, incorporating its colours along with firework illustrations. While the event is open to all, its location at the French Embassy highlights a sense of sophistication. To create a more elevated and modern look, the new design introduced a gold and green colour palette to represent elegance and wellness. This is also showcased in the soft, calligraphic serif typeface. The updated logo combines a front view of the embassy building with the sun from the original Salus logo.

A fundraising event reimagined

The chosen logo concept featured a separate emblem and wordmark. This final design played a key role in shaping the sponsorship booklet, guiding the use of colours and typefaces throughout. Imagery from the previous soirée was selected to be used in the layout, while the emblem itself was repurposed as decorative illustrations alongside typeface glyphs. The established colour palette was carried over consistently into the sponsorship booklet.
